The Challenge/ Problem

Launch of an innovative new product aimed at children. The Company concerned had never operated in a children’s market and were at a loss in terms of how to ensure they reached their target audience successfully.

The Action Taken

After talking with us the client realised that we could supply sector expertise and target consumer expertise to handle the UK market launch. We developed the right programme and agreed this with the Parent Company, operating as Interim Management for a 6 month period. Our work included:

  • Developing the Launch Programme
  • Developing the Marketing Plan
  • Originating the Sales Strategies, including Trading Terms and Conditions of Trade, the Product Presentation and target Retail Distribution sought
  • Putting together the right team to implement the launch
  • Initiating the Logistics plan and programme
  • Selling the idea to major UK Retailers

The Outcome

We hit retail distribution points in all cases. As a result of this we exceeded the first year targets for the product by 35% and hit profit margin targets comfortably. The launch was a great success and the product concerned was awarded the ‘Industry Product of the Year’ accolade in February following the calendar year of launch.
