Background

Paul has a broad range of experience from his time in a number of senior positions at The Royal Mint and, subsequently, from running his own, successful, consultancy and training business. He brings wide experience across marketing, programme management, business unit management and was part of the Leadership team implementing projects to improve customer journey/value, internal culture development, change management and developing Lean practices into the office environment.

During his 15 years at The Royal Mint, Paul progressed through the organisation and managed major commercial projects, including the £100m London 2012 Olympics Coin & Medal programme. He was also responsible for the communication & engagement project to support the introduction of the new £1 coin to businesses and the public.

Paul led strategic five-year planning projects in both Commemorative Coin (B2C and B2B, domestic and international) and within the B2B market for Circulating Coin, dealing with Central Banks and Governments across each continent. Within this role a new world-leading security anti-counterfeiting technology was launched within the new £1 coin, and rolled out across the global customer base for premium value coins.

Paul Binning developed and implemented the strategy to establish The Royal Mint brand as a major player in the global currency conference arena, servicing more than 50 countries and developing the platform for further growth internationally.

Having graduated in Business and Accountancy at Exeter university, Paul’s commercial understanding is strong, and aligning that to a passion for delivering added value to customers, allows him to make robust, proactive and positive decisions for businesses of any size. In the past few years Paul has run his own business, specialising in customer-focused strategic marketing and has qualified as a GDPR Practitioner, now offering training courses, workshops and consultancy projects on Data Protection for businesses who employ up to 250 employees.
