Background

David started his career in Lloyds Bank and spent four years with them.

He gained further commercial experience within the Life Assurance business, Royal London and became a District Inspector for the Company at 24 years of age.

David joined Procter & Gamble and progressed through to senior Sales Management in a 7 year career.

He was headhunted by General Mills to join their then Toy division which became Kenner Parker in 1984. He was Sales Director of Kenner Parker responsible for £110 million in sales and exited when the business was sold globally to Hasbro in 1990.

David was headhunted by Tyco Toys International as Sales Director. Grew the UK Tyco Sales profitably from £3 million to £50 million in a 4 year period.

He became Managing Director of Tyco UK and turned in record profits in a two year period reshaping and restructuring the business model. Tyco UK was Tyco subsidiary of the year 1996.

The Tyco business was sold successfully to Mattel in 1997.

David declined a Senior European role with Mattel and led a successful MBI into a child nursery equipment business partnered by 3i and RBS in 1997.

On exit set up own Consultancy and secured clients such as Microsoft, Hallmark and Simon International implementing original development/ training programmes

David merged his Consultancy business with that of an –Chairman of PKF to form GTN (Grasp the Nettle). GTN clients included Norprint, Breyer International and Corgi International.

He was targeted by Corgi International Executives in Spring 2004 and asked to take on a three year assignment as European MD ‐ with a goal to improve business profits and achieve a successful sale of the business globally within that period. These goals were achieved with the sale of the Corgi International business in December 2006.

David set up his own consultancy again in February 2007 securing clients such as Zak US.

He developed the Tinderbox idea and concept across 2007/ 2008 and launched the model in early 2009.

Tinderbox has proved an outstanding success and as a result is expanding rapidly around the UK with our unique Partnership model. Tinderbox has helped over 140 clients improve their business performance since its launch.
